PERSONAL LIFE

Burlakov passed away after a short brief with COVID in 2021. He was married to Lyudmila Burlakova, and the couple shared two daughters, Elena and Veronica.

Lyudmila filed for divorce in December 2018. The couple’s divorce proceedings were long and required intervention as Burlakov accused his wife and daughter of stealing funds. He initiated a criminal investigation into the pair in Monaco.

Burlakov accused his wife and youngest daughter, Veronica, of fraud, in September 2019. He stated the pair had embezzled $1 billion from his business partner, Nikolai Kazakov.

More lawsuits followed, with the divorce set to be finalized in summer 2021. His daughters sided with their mother and totally cut off contact with their father. Burlakov passed away before the proceedings could be done.

Sofia Shevtsova is the name of Burlakov’s girlfriend, who claims to have a daughter with Burlakov.

Burlakov’s inheritance is being disputed after this death. Lyudmila, his daughters, his sister, Vera Kazakova, and his girlfriend are all attempting to claim a stake in the extensive fortune.

A 2004 will states his wife to be the beneficiary of his wealth. But a handwritten will was found in 2019 stating that his sister and her husband were the beneficiaries, and they must look after Sofia and her daughter.
