Octopus, one of the longest yacht in the world has just sold for what is being labelled as one of the largest sales in the year. The 126.2 metre long vessel built by Lurssen was jointly listed for sale with both Burgess and Fraser for an asking price of €235,000,000 (US $279,000,000).
Octopus is equipped with two helipads, a garage for two helicopters, a 10 person submarine and storage for 8 tenders. She also has a music recording studio, a cinema, gym and medical centre. Spanning across eight decks she can accommodate 26 guests in 13 cabins as well as accommodating up to 63 crew. The master suite is on an owner dedicated deck with a private observation deck. Octopus has two elevators on board: one servicing the guests while the other is exclusively for the owner.
Prior to the sale Octopus belonged to American business magnate, Paul Allen.
