SYMPHONY is a 101-metre (333 ft) luxury yacht built by the Dutch shipyard Feadship and delivered to her owner Bernard Arnault in 2015. She is currently the largest yacht ever built by Feadship and ranks in 51st place on the list of largest yachts in the world.
The interior of SYMPHONY was developed by Zuretti Interior Design, a French studio specialising in luxury superyachts. She can accommodate twenty guests in eight cabins as well as a crew of 38 in below deck cabins. The large owner’s suite has a private deck with exceptional sea views and even a separate sauna. The interior of SYMPHONY is somewhat unusual and unlike other luxury yachts. Most of the floors and ceilings are encased in light wood panelling complemented by wooden furniture and elements of gold as well as natural tones. The yacht has a grand piano, a swimming pool with a waterfall and jets that simulate currents, a cinema, gym and wellness centre. There is an onboard steam room and several saunas. SYMPHONY has two elevators, one of which features a 15-metre interactive video screen that can play video footage at the request of the guests.
SYMPHONY has a volume of 3,463 tons and a total length of 101 metres (333 ft). Her beam measures 14.1 metres (46.3 ft) and her draft 4.1 metres (13.5 ft). She has a steel hull and a large aluminium superstructure. SYMPHONY is powered by four MTU engines, however, she uses 30% less energy than traditional vessels her size. Due to advanced hybrid propulsion technology, she is able to store energy in a battery bank that works together with her diesel engines. The yacht reaches maximum speeds of 21 knots and cruises comfortably at 10 knots.
The exterior of SYMPHONY was designed by Tim Heywood, a well-respected name in the industry. SYMPHONY is a white yacht with dark blue elements close to the waterline, lending her a streamlined appearance. She is known for carrying a wide variety of water toys, including inflatables, a slide, jet skies and sea bobs. Her aft deck includes a pool, and her bow has a large helipad perfect for allowing her owner to arrive and depart comfortably.
SYMPHONY was acquired by Arnault in 2015 for a price of US$150 million. She has annual running costs of US$10 to 15 million and is not currently available for charter.
SYMPHONY belongs to Bernard Arnault, who is currently considered the third richest man in the world with an estimated net worth of US $180 billion. Arnault is the CEO of the French luxury goods company LVMH (Louis Vuitton, Moet, Hennessy). He is also the majority shareholder in Dior, and due to his role in LVMH, he also owns the yacht shipyard Royal Van Lent where SYMPHONY was built. Bernard Arnault’s previous yacht was named AMADEUS, which he converted from a research vessel to a superyacht.
